The Textbook Fund is a three-year project to put more textbooks in the hands of Siuslaw students. Contributions are tax-deductible and 100% of all donations will be spent on textbooks for the students of Siuslaw Schools.

Donations are tax deductible.

The Textbook Fund of Siuslaw Schools is a cooperative project the school district, the Western Lane Community Foundation (WLCF) and Florence Bridge Volunteers in Siuslaw Schools (FBV). The Western Lane Community Foundation, a local well respected 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, administers all Textbook Fund donations so contributions are tax deductible.

School staff request books.

The Siuslaw School District produces the priority list of texts to be ordered from the Northwest Textbook Depository in Portland. There is no interference in textbook selection by the members of FBV or WLCF.

No overhead costs.

The volunteers of Florence Bridge pay all advertising and receipting costs to ensure that 100% of your tax-deductible donation will be spent on textbooks for the students of Siuslaw Schools.

In 2007 the Textbook Fund raised $45,000 and purchased English books for all classes of Kindergarten through Fifth grade at Siuslaw Elementary. This year the goal is to bring in $50,000 for Health books by June. Next year, 2009, we will continue to work together with the community to provide badly needed Math textbooks to our students.
